My Project

My young students can't get enough of sensory learning and play. They are so eager to practice math skills when they get to explore numbers and counting through hands-on explorations. The light-up sensory table will make a huge difference in student engagement, understanding, and retention in mathematics practice. The clear sensory tub will be placed on top of the sensory table to hold the hearts and various other manipulatives and sensory tools. The items are rotated throughout the year to match the seasons and holidays to keep students engaged and excited.

The use of sight, touch, and movement gives students more ways to connect with what they are learning.

Students will go on a sensory treasure hunt as they explore building, engineering, and number sense. Tiny manipulatives and sensory items will be placed in the tub along with number tiles for an exciting way to practice counting, cardinality, and ordering numbers.

Many students who attend our school live in low-income households. They love to come to school and work hard. Kindergarteners are always eager to please and make the people around them proud. I want to give my students fun and engaging ways to learn every day they come to school!
