My Students

As senior English teachers our goal is to prepare students for the next stage in life after high school, regardless of whether that choice is college, career, or military. We work with students to develop the writing, reading, speaking, and life skills.

Our students are a blend of seniors who are college bound, headed into the workforce, and joining the military.

They have spend the year developing their skills in reading and writing. Each student will showcase these skills and their individual talents through our senior portfolio, project, and interview. These student are not only headed to a variety of futures, but they come from a diverse set of backgrounds that provide unique challenges for each of them. Some may be the first to attend college in their family while others will be helping to support their families with jobs or training after high school. A few students will be enlisting with the United States military to serve our country. Regardless of where our students come from or where they are headed, they have been an asset to our school and deserve a reward for their hard work and dedication.

My Project

The seniors will be using these materials as rewards after they have finished their high school classes but before they walk at graduation. We will be assembling these bags with snacks, brain-teasing puzzles, prizes, and snacks to wish them well. These bags will be handed out as part of our Senior Mystery trip program. This trip is planned in secret by parents and the school to provide a reward and lasting bonding experience for the seniors in a safe environment. These items will keep them fueled and entertained while they are en-route to their secret destinations and activities. My students need bags, snacks, puzzle games, and prizes to keep them entertained and fueled on the Senior Mystery Trip, which will take place before graduation.

The trip to the Senior Mystery trip destinations are sometimes long and sometimes short, but regardless of where the mystery destination is this year, these items will help students keep themselves busy while en-route.

We want our students to enjoy this last opportunity to be together. This trip provides a safe place for that last experience together to happen.
