My Project

I teach an amazing group of special education middle schoolers. When I tell you that these kids amaze me every day I wouldn't be lying! I am their ELA teacher and throughout the school year we read multiple genres of stories, poems, and novels. At the end of each unit, the students are required to write an essay. We work on our essays for at least a week, making sure that they are ready to go, but that is when we hit a wall.

Most of my students do not have access to a printer at home and therefore cannot hand in their essays.

Finishing an essay you have been working on for days and then getting to see it printed is the best part and most of my students miss it. They have to email me their essays, and I have to go to the shared printer in the teacher's room and print it out for them.

I would love to have a printer in my room, so that we can celebrate as a class when we are ready to publish. I can't wait to see their faces when their essays come hot off the printer!
