Semester 2 Supply Refill

Help me give my students fidget toys to stay focused during class, food to curb hunger they feel until lunch, and finally, a speaker, so students can hear when educational videos are being played on my computer.

My Students

I teach high school students of many different backgrounds with a shared love of the arts. Our school is an extended day school which can be exhausting for these hardworking scholars. They are remote learning from 8 AM to 5 PM. My students consist of dancers, creative writers, visual artists, instrumentalists, theater, musical theater performers, and vocalists. They don't just create or "do" art they live it!

I have the incredible opportunity to build community amongst the school; this year will be especially important because they are getting acclimated to the building for the first time in a long time.

If these are the best times of their lives, I want them to remember this time forever with smiles on their faces. These students are at the most important stage of their high school journey. I am incredibly lucky that I am afforded the opportunity to see each of them grow and achieve their dreams. I can't wait to see what they aspire to be and do.

My Project

These materials will make a huge difference in my classroom. Currently, students have a hard time hearing the educational videos that are played on my computer. They would benefit from a better and louder speaker to hear the important information being shared.

Since students have been back in the building, I have noticed they have a hard time being in the classroom for long periods of time; this is where the fidget toys come into play and they would be a huge help!

Finally, the majority of students don't eat breakfast or dinner and are hungry while they are in the building. I would love the opportunity to curb that hunger until lunch with some snack options available.
