This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Education is a chance to have a choice!" Without an education you are limited in life. Be a part of the solution and know that change can only happen with your generation working for that change. I teach science and social science as subjects. I teach life choices and hope.

I am dealing with kids from all walks of life.

Some have very good home lives others, school is a safe haven. It is where they can get at least two meals a day and a hug if needed. Someone to listen to them and encourage them. Telling them you can do it, you have the ability. They are middle schoolers so some are happy,moody,smart, cool, and a challenge. Wait a minute the mood will change... they are wonderful teenagers. The school is an inner city school with a great group of caring teachers. Its a community and we are there for the kids.

My Project

We will be comparing past civil rights experiences to modern day ones. The kids need to know that if we do not understand or know are history we could repeat that history. What should you do differently to make the world a better place? If I leave this Earth tomorrow have I left it a better place? They will learn a little bit more about life and the choices we make.

The students will have a view/knowledge to something that has occurred.

Hopefully, understanding comes along with this knowledge. Knowing that someone made the ultimate sacrifice so that they can have a better life now.
