Self-Regulated = Ready to Learn!

Help me give my students a safe area to regulate their emotions and engage in sensory play.

My Project

These sensory items will help my special-education students regulate their emotions and, in turn, will help them be ready to learn. Self-regulation is a skill that has to be taught. With proper sensory items, I will be able to give my students choices of what they need to calm down with. All of the items have been chosen with my students' individual needs in mind.

Sensory items help my students to regulate their emotions and learn in their environment.

They will also be able to learn new ways to self-regulate using a variety of items. The beanbag will help them have a safe area to sit when they need to self-regulate. The tube lamp will give my students with visual needs an opportunity to have something to keep their attention and refocus. The wall fabric and activity board wall panel will give my students an opportunity to use their hands for sensory-seeking behaviors in the calm-down area. The learning items (addition and subtraction, and letters) are important for tactile learners. They will receive the sensory stimulation they need while also working on building new skills.

I have seen how important self-regulation is for students with disabilities, and they deserve to have what they need to be successful!
