This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, my bilingual kindergarten classes will be departmentalized by subject. I will have 2 classes of 22 students each. Some of these children have never been to school before and will need all the instructional time I am able to provide daily.
I plan for my small groups to be self-directed and organized with all the supplies and materials my students will need in order to reduce time looking for things and thereby increasing instructional time on a daily basis.
Another set of caddies will be at my table so I can instruct, and tutor groups of students based on their individual needs.
By allowing the little ones to be engaged and self-sufficient in a safe environment, I hope to increase their leadership skills while enhancing their self-esteem to encourage them to be lifelong learners.
