Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I plan to teach my students living skills. Such as washing your hands, brushing your teeth, etc. My students are entering the adolescence stage. Many of my students don’t realize how important it is to self-care as their bodies are changing, because of their disability it takes them time and practice. I want to provide them with a comfortable and clean hygienic space. Often times we don’t even have bathroom soap for students to wash their hands.
I will use the bathroom rack to organize the items so students can have immediate access to all personal higiene items.
The oil infuser will help create a relaxing feel good environment for them. Some students experience anxiety around using the toilet especially outside of their comfortable zone.
