Help me give my students sustenance, games to build classroom community, and books to read in class. Help me continue to support our students with their SEL goals!
We are a blended Special Education class, with the majority of my students who are with me the entire day. We have been going out to more general education classes more and more this year, and the students and staff have enjoyed seeing the students daily.
The materials I am requesting will help me with supplementing my students with their hunger, SEL needs, building our classroom community, and having fun!
The bocce balls we will use as part of our outside activities. A lot of our students participate in Special Olympics and play bocce ball; so having this activity will be a wonderful asset to our classroom. The students will continue to learn how to play in a team setting, work with others, and increase their hand-eye coordination.
The snacks are self-explanatory; if people are hungry, no matter their age, the harder it is for them to focus and fulfill any tasks. I want to have my students feel fulfilled and have their tummies full so they can learn to their fullest capacity. The snacks will not be a replacement for their school meals, but to bide them over until lunch. We all know the feeling of being hungry, and I don't want my students to feel this way.
