it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a big part of what we teach in Kindergarten, even if it's not officially in our curriculum. Our students come to school every day with big feelings and we need to teach them how to manage those feelings, how to cultivate friendships.
Books help model social-emotional skills for our young learners!
Our goal is to read a book to help with our SEL skills every day. This really helps the students to be able to focus better on learning. If they know how to solve their own problems and manage their own feelings-they can focus more on the learning.
These books will help me with managing the classroom as well. We lose a lot of learning time when those big feelings interrupt the lessons. These books will help use not only become better learners but also better citizens.
