My Project
I want to create a section of my classroom where students can go at any time to take care of the mental health needs.
I want all students to have a place to go where they feel supported and calm.
Comfortable seating, snacks and books are just part of the equation, I want the space to be inviting and warm for students who need to take a beat and reset during their long and stressful days.
Posters, coloring books and sensory tools all can help students self reflect, deescalate, and re-ground in the present moment. Life is hard, but we can all pitch in to make it a little easier for these students.
