My Students

Our school is in great need of quality supplies. Our school is a Title one school with 100% free and reduced lunch. Some of our families are very supportive but we also have students who are taking on the role of mom or dad because they come home to an empty home. Our school is in the turnaround process and due to the Covid19 we are still struggling to get kids caught up. I want this next year to be the best yet and have a classroom that is comfortable and inviting, especially since they've had two extremely hard years. My classroom becomes a safe place for my students. They know I will hold them accountable but they also know I care. I want to provide them with as many resources as I can. I want to be the teacher they remember when their my age.

My Project

Social and emotional learning is something students need every day here at school. Many times our students come to school and do not have the skills to deal with emotions or manage their feelings. SEL skills are not taught enough in the home so we are tirelessly trying to keep students educated on how to deal with everything from making friends to dealing with depression. We just don't have enough resources in our schools.

These books will help me engage students as they make personal and meaningful connections to their lives.

The TPT gift card will allow me to purchase even more SEL resources to use within my classroom.

These combined resources will help me keep my students actively engaged in my SEL lessons and offer them more activities. Teaching during the pandemic has taught us just how important social and emotional lessons are and the impact they have our our students lives. This project will help me provide my students with better lessons/resources.
