Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With these printmaking supplies my students will be able to create printed cards to address people to give thanks and express love. Moving into the fall season we often talk about being grateful. With these supplies my students will use the Gelli plates to create abstract prints and learn about color theory. When the prints dry, we'll transform them into notecards for them to address to a person of their choice.

Using the micron pens they can add details on top of the prints and also write a letter to someone they want to give thanks to.

It can be a family member, friend, or even a celebrity that has influenced their life for the better. With the Gelli plates students will be able to make multiple prints and use the pens to practice their writing skills. The Gelli plates and pens are reusable, so we'll be able to use them for years to come for a variety of projects. It would be years before we could afford a class set of these items. I really hope we can help my students get their hands on the supplies they deserve.
