My Project

In an evolving educational landscape, fostering emotional resilience and interpersonal skills is pivotal for students' holistic development. As both a high school teacher and dedicated social work student, I am committed to empowering my students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally. Today, I invite you to join me in this forward-thinking endeavor, supporting a mentorship initiative designed to uplift students across all grade levels through imaginative play and play therapy with LEGO Education STEAM Park and SPIKE Essential.

High school students possess remarkable potential—not just as learners but as compassionate leaders capable of guiding younger peers.

By facilitating mentorship opportunities between high school students and elementary and middle school children, we create a symbiotic environment of growth, understanding, and healing. These mentorship sessions will focus heavily on imaginative play, an evidence-based strategy that supports trauma-informed care and emotional regulation.

Imaginative play is transformative; it allows children to safely explore their feelings, process experiences, and build critical emotional skills. For younger students, it provides a therapeutic outlet to navigate complex emotions and experiences, fostering resilience and emotional literacy. High school mentors, in turn, benefit immensely by developing empathy, leadership capabilities, and enhanced social-emotional awareness—skills invaluable both in and out of the classroom.

Through your generosity, we can supply our students with thoughtfully curated materials that spark creativity, encourage emotional expression, and facilitate meaningful interaction. Funds will be allocated toward resources such as therapeutic play kits, storytelling props, expressive arts supplies, and sensory tools—each carefully selected to maximize healing, learning, and growth.

Your support will not only enhance our students' emotional well-being but will cultivate a compassionate community of learners equipped to handle life's challenges confidently and empathetically. Together, we can inspire meaningful connections and lasting positive change.
