My Project

I am a brand new school counselor starting from ground zero this year. As the school year has gone on, I have learned more about my students and their needs.

As a school counselor, I support the social-emotional well-being, academic success, and career development of all students.

I plan to use the bulletin board in a common area so students and teachers can see the counseling theme for the month. The books will be helpful during classroom lessons about certain topics. Students will benefit from the games as they are SEL focused and will help enhance social skills as they play with one another.

Scented lip balm is a great positive behavior reinforcer or sensory tool to rub on their hands and sniff. The rolling cart will help me transport my classroom lesson items to each classroom more easily. I can use the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase tools and resources for small groups and whole group lessons. The weighted lap animal is very helpful as a sensory item or for self-regulation for students who are having big feelings. I plan to utilize the puppets during classroom lessons and play therapy activities.

These materials will make a difference in student learning by providing them with the resources and supplies they need to engage in classroom lessons, small groups, and individual sessions.
