My Project
The definition of social and emotional learning (SEL) is the "process through which individuals learn and apply a set of social, emotional, and related skills, attitudes, behaviors, and values that help direct students." This is essential for the ICT 5th grade class which consist of 30 students. These students are combined with different personalities, thoughts and feelings. SEL has become apart of our daily schedule/curriculum and it is essential to the students to being successful in their academics.
This will include their thoughts, feelings, and actions in ways that enable them to succeed in school.
There are five SEL competencies that I believe playing board games can enhance: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social awareness, and relationship skills. Playing board games can support the students with the SEL competencies which is vital to the teaching and understanding of social and emotional learning at school.
More than half of students from low‑income households
