This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Play is a child's language and how kids learn best. Many valuable skills are learned as students engage in play: dealing with disappointment, encouraging others, compromise, to name just a few. Unfortunately, children's opportunities to engage in this type of learning were extremely limited during COVID. As such our school has implemented a school wide program where we set aside time for students to engage in this type of play with peers and staff. Having the opportunity to engage in art and play in a safe environment with a safe and trusted adult builds skills but also helps build relationships.
