My Students
Have you ever finished the first book in a series only to anxiously await the next book to be published? My students love books that are part of a series, and they are constantly on the lookout for the next installment.
My students come from low income families, and books are not available in many of their homes.
The only books they read come from school, and unfortunately we only have a librarian once a week this year. So, it isn't always easy for them to get a book when they need one.
My Project
By obtaining these 16 book sequels, my students will be able to continue a journey with their favorite characters. I have found that when students are hooked on books that are part of a series, they read much more than they would otherwise. Not only does this help my students' reading comprehension scores, it also provides them with an enjoyable hobby.
The fulfillment of this project means that books will be in the hands of students who need and desperately want them.
It will bring my students one step closer to being life-long readers.
