Seeking Quiet Environment for Students

My students need new books because there is a budget crisis and unfortunately books were cut!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our 7th and 8th grade students are diverse in their reading interests and needs. Most of them like to read if the type of book they enjoy is readily available.

Our students are over stimulated by social media and technology.

They are self-conscious, funny, witty, moody and at times emotionally charged. They read books that support their emotional needs and help them to deal with the world around them.

They need a quiet peaceful environment free from the chaotic world of social media and technology. Reading is a calming activity and these teenagers need books that pique their personal interests so they can learn to find some peace in their lives devoid of technology.

My Project

Your generous donation will go towards principally purchasing newly published books.

By finding books that develop the student's interests they can mature into young adults that have a strong individual identity and self-esteem!

My library book budget has been drastically cut. It seems as though people think technology is the answer to all educational problems and money should be used for that instead of books. I believe stimulating our children with technology is not as important as giving them time for quiet activities such as reading.

I have students that have requested current novels and I have no money to buy them. These books will be stored in the library so all students can have access to them.

My students have little or no access to the public library. Getting the latest books into their hands is crucial for this age group to continue their love of reading. These books are intended for reading for pleasure which ultimately will help them become lifelong readers.
