Seeing Yourself in Text Adding Diversity

Help me give my students See themselves in text. We would like to add more diversity to our media center to represent our students. Seeing yourself in text and stories can create new worlds for the reader!

My Project

As the Media Specialist I see the importance of being represented in the Media Center. I would like to provide this to all the students at Gillespie Park Elementary and add as many diverse titles as possible. This list encompasses many African American Titles and Hispanic Titles to add to the Media Center.

Books provide doors and windows to which all students should be able to enter and with your help the students at Gillespie Park will have opportunity to see themselves in our text here in the Media Center.
