This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The photography classroom is a place where my students can be themselves and where they use their creativity to capture their unique views of the world through photography.
I teach in an art magnet school where students must audition in order to be a part of the photography program.
As a result, my students are enthusiastic 6th, 7th and 8th graders that are highly motivated to learn. Due to a lack of funding and limited amount of resources, we are in need of new equipment. With your donation, I will be able to provide more opportunities for students to practice and develop their skills using high quality cameras.
My Project
It is my goal to teach students how to use manual settings with their cameras so they have more control to take better photographs. I have included two DSLR and three point and shoot cameras with a variety of settings that can produce good quality images. The cases are meant to keep the cameras protected, the memory cards to store photographs and the card readers to download the images.
High quality cameras will allow my students to capture better photographs of their world, as well as document the many events and shows that take place in our school.
Through your help, I will be able to provide experiences to my students that many would otherwise not have.
This project will change the lives of my students for the better because some do not have access to a digital camera. These cameras will give my students access to learn how to use and practice their skills with quality equipment.
