My Students

Coming into this year I knew I was going to be fighting a lot of different issues, but I was more than excited to get started. After meeting my students I knew that I was meant to do this! My students are all different but all are begging for the same thing; they WANT to learn but they NEED to be told they are important to someone. I am that someone. My kids are my world and I am their advocate.

My kids are the most important part of my job, even though I teach about the wonders of the physical world, they are teaching me how to be better in all I do.

For example, I have a student who has constantly pushed my buttons, they have tried over and over again to show me that I do not matter to them and they do not care what I do. After winter break this student came back and said to me, “Mrs. Lutz thanks for being there for me last semester, I know I tried to make your life horrible but without you I don’t think I could have made it.” That is why I do what I do.

My Project

The first 9 weeks of school is spent learning about biology in my classes, before we were stuck learning from computers because most of our microscopes didn’t work properly. This made it very difficult for my students to really grasp the material.

With the addition of 6 new microscopes my students will FINALLY be able to learn in a much more hands on approach and truly be able to grasp concepts they previously were unable to learn due to lack of equipment.

By the purchase of these microscopes you are helping my students learn so much more because they will truly be able to see things like bacteria cells, plants cells, and many other portions of the micro-world that they haven’t seen before!
