This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are so curious and love to look at pictures, models, and infographics to expand their knowledge. Whenever we begin to learn about a new science topic, we use a "gallery walk" to make observations and inferences about images. We use the images and discussions from the gallery walk to develop questions and ideas about new topics we are learning about.
Using this color printer, I would be able to easily produce color images and models for my students to learn from.
Using these visuals as grounding tools for the new science unit is extremely important because many of my students are visual learners.
Additionally, using images as a part of learning is essential for students who have learning disabilities. Unfortunately, my school does not have access to a color printer, which makes these activities challenging to plan for. Having a color printer in my classroom will help engage my students.
