Help me give my students the opportunity to see themselves by using inclusive color paints, and give them opportunity to "learn resilience, dream big, and know where they came from".

My Project
Use of art supplies is a daily happening in my inclusive classroom. Exposure to visual art and its connections to the real world are extremely important. Equally important is the ability to see a reflection of yourself in your own artwork. The color inclusive paints, and local artist Reggie Brown's book I've asked for, will help all of my students to do just that.
The color inclusive paints and crayons we're requesting will let my students create their own self portraits in their natural skin tones.
Local illustrator Reggie Brown's book pictures contemporary young people of color and sends messages of resilience and dreaming big.
And lastly, while the water color paper is more expensive than copy paper, it says to my students that they are important - so important that we are going to use the same media that working artists use. There is nothing so rewarding as to see a child beam at their own creation. Your generous gift will make that possible for all of my students.
