This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Seeing isn't just believing! Remember when math was taught with just chalk and a board? Teachers would just "give" students formulas and problems. Students were not taught to think or understand where formulas come from.
My students are extremely hard working with intelligent minds!
Our school is an inner city school for grades 6-8. Good technology is hard to come by, and my students are motivated by technology. It would be great if students could come into my room knowing that they are going to use the interactive whiteboard.
My Project
With a new a new projector, my students will be much more engaged in mathematics class. I would be better equipped to show my students various means of learning complex concepts. It would be possible for my students to perhaps watch a video demonstration, or interactively move objects representing mathematical formulas. They would be better motivated to write out their work and explain their thinking on our interactive whiteboard. All of these possibilities would make learning much more fun and interesting!
My students would love to say good-bye to chalk and board!
By funding this project you will open new doors to the way students view mathematics. Mathematics will be fun and interactive!
