My students need the Earth science poster set, a scientific method poster, a rock cycle model, a set of How and Why books, and the Hands On Science Themes.
Seeing is understanding. I teach 7th grade science. I have a variety of students with different backgrounds and ability levels. Our community is mostly rural with little emphasis placed in my subject area other than its agricultural impacts.
Many students come to the middle school with little background in science. Many of the elementary schools don't emphasize this subject because many teachers don't enjoy teaching it. Visual materials help grab students' attention and get them excited about the subject. This will help them become more active learners.
The more visually appealing I can make my classroom, the more I can hook my students. If a student shows interest, he/she will be able to learn the material more easily. To this end, I need posters, engaging books and a rock cycle model.
Your help will make it possible for me to reach more students. It will make it easier for them to remember content, especially the visual learners.
