Seeing is Believing: A Visual Science Learning Experience

Seeing is believing will allow my 5th grade students to actually see scientific concepts they have read and learned about in class. I teach in a Title 1 school, and because of my students' economically poor background they are limited in their first-hand experiences. This will open the world up to them by being able to visually experience concepts taught in science.
Due to the lack of funding in my school, I would appreciate any help bringing the world into my classroom for my students to see and experience. This project would allow me to do this by creating DVDs to align with my units and science standards, and provide a learning center for my classroom. It would also be a positive asset to utilize for my visual learners.
Using the DVD-RW, on my desktop computer I can download videos from PBS and UnitedStreaming and create DVDs to be used with the DVD Learning Center to create a small screening center in my classroom. Students would be able to come to the center during group rotations in science class to view the video which would enhance the concept and skills taught by allowing them to see it first hand. This would also create a high-interest activity which would engage students in the learning.
Your help will make it possible for my under privileged students to see and experience things in the world they would not have gotten to experience otherwise. Because of your donation they will experience "Seeing is Believing" in science, and this project would help bring the textbook and science concepts to life.
