My Students
I teach kindergarten at an elementary school in San Ramon, CA. My class is filled with creative, smart, hard working, and kind students. Currently we are doing distance learning but we hope to be back in the classroom on January 5th.
My Project
Diversity is all around us. It is a beautiful thing in our world. In my classroom, I believe it is important to teach students the value of everyone. One way to do this with young students is to give them the opportunity to explore this concept through imaginative play.
Through play, children construct their understandings of the social world and learn to value themselves and others around them.
With this grant, students can experience and learn about diversity in our world by playing with the hand puppets and wooden houses and people from around the world.
It is essential that cultural diversity is taught at a young age and through play. I look forward to providing this opportunity for my students by using these materials.
