My Project

Hello! My name is Ms. Glori May Deliarte, though my students fondly call me Ms. May. I am currently a Kindergarten to 1st Grade teacher at our school. This is my first-year teaching at this school, and while it has been a challenging journey navigating a multi-level classroom, the joy and fulfillment it brings at the end of each day make it truly rewarding.

Teaching young children has always been my passion.

Their innocence, curiosity, and eagerness to explore the world around them inspire me daily. I believe in nurturing that natural curiosity—transforming it into interest, interest into fun, and fun into meaningful learning.

According to educational theory, a child's mind is like a "blank slate," capable of absorbing immense amounts of information from their environment. This makes early childhood a critical period for cognitive and skill development. As an educator, I strive to create engaging, creative, and interactive learning experiences that support and enhance each child's growth and potential.

Each of the following resources supports hands-on, inquiry-based learning and aligns with key science standards:

1. Science Viewers and Microscope Kit: Enhance observation skills and allow close examination of natural specimens.

2. Light & Dark Kit and Magnets: Support exploration of physical science concepts like light, shadows, and magnetism.

3. Sink or Float Kit: Teaches properties of matter through buoyancy and density experiments.

4. Pop Bottle Science: Provides simple, engaging experiments that make complex concepts accessible.

5. Books: Build science literacy, vocabulary, and background knowledge.

6. Other Resources: Will reinforce scientific inquiry, experimentation, and student engagement.

Together, these materials will help create a dynamic, hands-on learning environment where students can explore scientific concepts through observation, experimentation, and reflection. Each item directly supports key learning goals and aligns with science standards, ensuring students gain both knowledge and enthusiasm for science.
