This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Representation in books is so important. In our diverse class, having a classroom library that reflects the lives and experiences our our students, as well as the experiences that they might not personally experience, is a very special experience. I have found that my students really enjoy relating to books they see themselves in, as well as learning about others through books.

Our reading time as a class is cherished and valued, and many of our students love story time very much.
