See You In September With Classroom Basic Supplies!
My students need Construction Paper, Markers, Caddies, Colored Pencils, Glue Sticks, Chart Paper, Reusable Write & Wipe Pocket Folders, and Magnetic Sentence Strips.
Every day in my class is a learning adventure and my 4th graders come to school ready to tackle whatever challenge I put in front of them. My goals are to use these basic classroom supplies to prepare these great kids for promotion to the 5th grade and be prepared for next year's new class.
Our school is located in Brooklyn's East New York and is a Title 1 school with 100% of the students qualifying for free breakfast and lunch.
My General Education students come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and each has their own learning needs and requirements. For many coming to school is a challenge and when they do arrive basic supplies are not in their backpacks. Funding for teachers being as limited as it is, I am expected to provide the basic supplies for my classroom. These supplies are so needed for my students and me to be successful.
My Project
My students will use the markers, colored pencils, construction paper and glue for projects and assignments that support Common Core learning standards and goals in all the content areas. Supply caddies will hold the pencils, markers and glue sticks on each group table. The Write and Wipe folders will be used as student portfolios. Chart paper will be used for anchor charts that will be displayed around the classroom and give students a visual reinforcement of what they learned in their lessons. I will use the magnetic sentence strips to post daily aims and important facts.
These basic classroom supplies will help my 4th grade students continue learning this school year and be used by my next class come September.
Sometimes, all students need for the best educational experience is having a generous supply of pencils, markers and paper. Thank you for your support and generous donations!
