My students need VR headsets so I can take them to places they've never dreamed of before. With these headsets and the students' phones, I can literally take them anywhere and show them amazing science concepts!

My Students
I teach science at R.M. School of the Arts. My students have applied and auditioned to be able to attend our school. So, my student are very artistic and talented. They are extremely creative and love when arts are integrated in the curriculum.
However, science is not always a subject that my students have had success with in the past.
My job is to make science fun and engaging. I want to incorporate as much art and performance into my class as I can. This will be the goal of all my projects. To supply my students with materials that will allow them to express themselves to the fullest. Building their knowledge of the standards and building their knowledge of the arts!
My Project
We will start by immediately using these VR headsets with the app Titans of Space which takes students through the entire solar system. It allows them to see every single planet as it would be viewed from space and shows the relative size of everything in the solar system. It provides a wealth of information as well about each celestial object.
Using a VR headset to view the solar system brought me to tears the first time.
I was floored at how majestic and miraculous the solar system was. The headsets brought the material to LIFE!
There are so many apps that will allow our students to view the world in a new way. The more they understand about the Earth, the more likely they are to take care of it! Please consider helping our students out!
