This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are deaf and hard of hearing and I teach them through their native language of American Sign Language. This microscope and lab equipment will be so beneficial to my students as they will be able to see the samples on a screen and will still be able to see me teach them in ASL instead of looking through the lenses, then looking at me, then looking back at the lenses.

Teaching in ASL is such an amazing process but people often forget the luxury hearing students have to be able to look through the lenses and hear the teacher talk at the same time.

My students are not afforded that luxury, thus, a visual lab set up will change their whole science experience for the better.
