Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, creative, think out of the box second graders. Our school is located in high poverty, high crime area of Van Nuys, Ca. Despite this my students always show up with a smile on their face ready to learn.
Undoubtedly, the stresses of life out of school begin to creep in and effect their ability to to focus and learn.
I would like to provide my students with a way to be able to release that energy and anxiety in a fun productive manner.
My Project
Bouncy Bands will help my students to release energy and anxiety. Help them to be calm and focus. In turn perform better on test and improve in academics as well as social emotional learning.
Many of these students have been labeled as behavior problems when in reality they have no control over their current situation or do not know how to properly cope with their feelings.
I want my students to show that they are capable productive students. With Bouncy bands and given the opportunity my students will increase productivity, feel comfort in the classroom setting, and learn self-regulation strategies.
