Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever looked at the board from the back of the classroom and thought "gee, I can't see?"
Many of my students have.
My students love to read! They love borrowing books from the classroom library and participating during class. However, many of my students complain about not being able to see the board. All of them are wonderful children who attend a high-poverty inner-city school. In our classroom, we have many students from different backgrounds, which makes coming to school every day fun and exciting. Many of our students struggle with reading but believe that they can get better if they put in the time and effort.
My Project
With a document camera, students will be introduced to technology at an early age. In our ever changing world, technology is extremely important, and I'm concerned that my students haven't been exposed to enough of it. With the document camera, my reading loving students will all be able to see the books that we read out loud in class and share their work with other students. They will also be able to see any information on skills that we are working on. With a document camera, the possibilities for classroom use are endless!
This project will help my students get more engaged in the classroom.
As much as they love reading, they love technology too! A document camera will also help them be able to see the information that is presented to them and see more concrete examples of things such as vocabulary examples. We can choral read and discuss poetry together as a class from one book without having to share.
