Help me give my students live and interactive lessons for online learning so they can stay engaged and obtain the knowledge they need to succeed with webcam and Wacom board.
The students of our school are a cohort of diverse, intelligent, and hardworking students from around the New York City Metropolitan area. Our school is a selective, public, college preparatory school with a focus on science, math, technology, and engineering that provides a challenging academic experience that prepares students for careers in science, math, and engineering.
My classroom is not only a place of challenge and discovery but also a place where students come to de-stress and learn everyday life skills.
Inside and out of the classroom, they are inquisitive learners never afraid to ask how our world works. They are also from very diverse backgrounds and come to school with various experiences that further deepen our classroom learning.
My Project
Online learning has become a new experience for students, parents, and educators. Having to go from in person to fully computerized learning has been quite challenging. With in person classes you are able to easily demonstrate and model activities or even have the supplies you need at the drop of a hat. With online learning, there is more preparation and pre-planning that needs to happen.
Regardless, this challenge has presented a new opportunity for a new type of learning.
Since everyone is in such different environments we don't all necessarily have the same resources. To tackle this challenge, the camera with mic and Wacom board will allow me to simulate activities for students and eliminate the worry of whether a student has supplies at home or not. It will also work like a white board where I can share students thoughts live and make the class more personalized. The camera will allow me to really show case everything up close and be a presence for the class!
