See Me, Hear Me: A Multilingual Learner Identity Photo Project

Help me give my students a vibrant classroom photo wall where multilingual students can see themselves, share their voices, and celebrate their unique identities through instant Polaroid portraits and personal storytelling.

My Project

My classroom is filled with multilingual learners navigating new languages and cultures. To affirm their identity, I’m creating an “Our Stories Matter” photo wall featuring student portraits, quotes, and cultural pride.

With a Polaroid camera, film, photo frames, speech bubble cards, string lights, bulletin board borders, and laminating sheets, students will see themselves celebrated daily.

This living display will uplift student voice, build community, and create a warm, welcoming space. When students see their photo on the wall, surrounded by their words and cultures, they feel pride. Because when students see themselves, they believe they belong—and that changes everything.
