My Project
My autistic students are unique and so are their learning styles. They are visual learners, hands-on learners, and sensory seekers. The highly visible activities and sensory items I am asking for will be used during ELA, math, and social skills. It will be shared amongst everyone. During ELA, students will use the Write Wipe Alphabet Practice Cards, the Letter Crayons Word Building Center, and the Magnetic Sight Word Sentence Board to reinforce writing and reading skills. During math, students will use the Tactile Number Match-ups, and Snap Simple Addition Center to strengthen math skills. Students will also use Time Money Activity Mats during math. During social skills time, students will use washable sensory play materials. During this time, students will sit together and play with sensory materials while practicing turn-taking and other social skills. The calming cuddle ball will sit in our calm corner. It will be available for my students to hug whenever they need it. By donating to our project, you will not only help my students meet their sensory needs, but you will also ultimately help to increase the academic achievement.
