My Students

See It - Touch It - Live It! Action and excitement get students engaged in learning about their community and the world around them. The biggest challenge this year is to get students excited and actively participating in learning for themselves. Technology brings the world to life, unlike any book.

School can become challenging for third graders.

My school is very diverse with a wonderful blend of cultures and languages. The students are learning to see the world through many perspectives. Since many children excel when using electronics, I would like to bring mini iPads into the classroom to foster learning among all levels of students. This year several students are struggling with the increased use of textbooks and the language barrier. Technology is way to bring the topics we cover in class to life, so students are engaged and eager to learn.

My Project

My vision is to incorporate the mini iPads with accessories into small learning centers where students will have an opportunity to research topics that we are covering in class. They will be watching video clips, reading articles, engaging in interactive activities, and creating class presentations. The students will create high quality presentations that will promote public speaking and teamwork. These interactive group presentations will allow the students to take ownership of the topics that are covered in class. Students love to see themselves on the big screen, plus they put more effort into their work when they get to interact with technology. I think it is important to let the students get excited about learning and mini IPads will help me with this dream.

Technology is the "NOW" generation and classrooms need to have access to iPads to engage and inspire our students. Teachers want to keep up with the technology wave, but schools are behind in funding. My students will be motivated to learn more and help others understand how to use different programs. Technology will help them become career and college ready. My students will be the big winners if we get this grant.
