This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love to explore on their own and in small groups. They love hands-on, active, engaging games and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to learn . They inspire me every day!

My students have a wide range of abilities.

Many of my students have trouble expressing themselves. Communication can be a real struggle for many of them. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they communicate and flourish varies. Communication is a vital universal need and everyday my students are excited and ready to learn and communicate.

My Project

My students with special language needs benefit from multiple exposures and different methods of presentation to really learn and use a particular skill. I use hands on learning experiences and games as part of my tool box to help my students acquire knowledge and use new skills. I teach a wide range of students, from Pre-K to 6th grade, although most of my students are in the younger grades. Many of my students struggle with phonemic awareness skills as well as with general language skills.

These language based games and hands on learning opportunities will give my students a chance to improve their phonemic awareness abilities and general language skills.

This, "See It! Practice It! Know It!" project will benefit multiple students in a variety of grades.
