My students need a sand and water table for learning activities and sensory breaks. A cover will help to cue the students the table is unavailable.

My Students
I work with special needs students who teach me new things everyday. Many of my students come from low income households. Daily life can be a struggle for many students at my school. My students face these daily struggles in addition to the struggles they may face from their disability.
Together, we grow stronger everyday.
I advocate for my students to receive all the services and support they may need. My students put a smile on my face daily by making progress however big or small that may be.
My Project
I work with special education students who often learn in unique ways. Having a sensory table that can be filled with a variety of sensory items will attract and engage students with Autism to the learning environment. Then filling the sensory table with educational items such as squishy numbers and letters in addition to the sensory materials, staff can easily differentiate beginning math and reading activities for several students at once.
At times, an overly active learning environment can be overwhelming for some students.
Additional sensory tools, such as a chew tube or work station divers, can help to decrease the overstimulation and refocus students to learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
