FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Grant's classroom raised $948
This project is fully funded
My second graders love science projects! They are a wonderful group of children who love learning. I teach second grade in a high poverty area. The teachers at my school give their all to make our children's lives less complex and more enjoyable.
In Virginia, we focus most of our lessons on math and reading and not enough on science and social studies as a school district. My students enjoy the mini projects that we do in the classroom, and I would like to fit in more projects as the year goes on. My students have showed much interest in science, but we lack the materials that would help them to learn.
My students are visual learners. They enjoy completing projects in the classroom. Materials such as cylinders, thermometers, magnets, simple machines, etc, would help them to grasp the concepts that I am teaching. It would also help them with their grades. Although my students love science, their grades don't reflect that they understand science. I believe that the science materials would really benefit my class and their grades.
Your help would make it possible for my students to grasp the Virgina SOL objectives. It would help them prepare for their tests and continue to make them excited about learning. You would be making it possible for my students to master the SOL objectives and prepare for the next grade level.
