My Students
As a teacher for students from low-income/high poverty areas, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. They have come to our school due to the challenges they have faced in the regular school setting, and have not done well.
Our program strives to help these students by giving them the social, emotional, and educational tools they will need to function and hopefully thrive in a regular school setting after completing their time with us, which will allow then to complete their schooling with their peers.
My Project
These binders will allow my transient student population to keep all of their school work in one location, which will simplify their transition back to their regular schools. All their work can then be place into a portfolio and sent to their school, no more going from class to class with work in folders that their notes and class work fall out of and gets lost.
With all of their work in a secure location they will also learn how to be more organized which will also benefit them for the rest of their lives, as we grown up's have learned that being organized prevents us from losing work and spending time doing it twice.
