My students need a document viewer in order to see sophisticated algebraic processes modeled for them.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. B.'s classroom raised $688
This project is fully funded
I teach advanced algebra to 16 8th Graders in a tough urban environment in Illinois. My classroom has a lot of great educational tools and even greater students, but I struggle demonstrating the methods of performing the sophisticated algebra they will need in high school.
My children are among the most motivated I have taught in my 13 years on the job. They are highly engaged in learning high school level material, but from time to time I have to show exemplary models of the processes they need to perform to solve problems.
My students would benefit immensely from a document camera. This camera, when hooked up to a projector in my classroom, would allow them to engage with their work in more creative ways. They would be able to make stronger connections to their work because it will be their work that I will use to show their improvements and setbacks that will soon become improvements.
With your generous help, my students will be taking a powerful step towards achieving greatness in high school math. I am convinced that with my guidance and this awesome tool, they will not only be better prepared for advanced math in high school, they will be more motivated and eager to share and explain their thinking. I know that this is an important project, and my students are poised to meet the challenges of high school math!
