Securing, Storing, Labeling and Organizing Our Team Uniforms and Gear.

My students need 6 padlocks with security cables, storage bins for uniforms and team shirts, clothing labels and fabric markers for uniforms, organizer bins and a Whitmor Extra-Wide Clothes Closet.

My Students

I teach Physical Education at an elementary school located in North Miami. My students now have recess in addition to PE, which means that the demand for physical education supplies has almost doubled in order to accommodate all students.

My school has a high number of students who were affected after Hurricane Irma devastated our community and now we are welcoming students from Puerto Rico who were displaced by Hurricane Maria.

My school also has a high number of students who are high poverty, ESOL, and ELL, and there are a few who are Special Education and gifted.

Our students love to exercise, but due to the devastation of Hurricane Irma, the parks, and surrounding grounds are still not safe for them to play in. Also, they need to learn how to keep themselves healthy holistically, which means nutrition and health education needs to be incorporated into our P.E. curriculum.

My Project

Recently, our P.E. department was fully funded through Donorschoose and we will be getting numerous uniforms, sports gear and field day equipment/game supplies.

Currently, we do not have proper storage for these items and we will need to secure the uniforms, gear, and sports equipment, as well as preserve them.

We are requesting storage bins and a portable wardrobe to store our cheerleading uniforms, team shirts, skirts, and pants. We also desperately need to label our team clothing in order to keep track of our inventory, as our student body is growing in number.

We need padlocks that cannot easily be broken, to secure our large file cabinets. Your donations will ensure that the new sports materials we will be receiving, remain clean, tracked, intact and secure.
