Second Grade...The Grade of Wonder of Discovery.

My students need the Starrmatica, dreambox and the other interactive software to support literacy and math in the classroom.

My Students

It is the right for each child in our great country to have all educational tools available to them. My children enter the classroom ready to discover new things. My goal is to use the interactive classroom programs to teach, assess, and work with children's different learning styles.

My students are absolute gems.

They are talkative, excitable and have a passion for learning. I teach in an impoverished area where there are a lack of resources. Our Principal does her best to provide but there are always budget constraints. Our school environment is warm and loving. Teachers put their all into teaching. We are a community that wants our children to succeed. There is a determination to take our children to the next level, inspire of the obstacles we face. We know we will succeed and we are proud to be teachers.

My Project

My students have different levels of learning abilities. Differentiation instruction is the key to success. On any given day you can walk into the classroom and see small groups of children around the room performing reading, math, science, and social studies at their own pace. Brain pop will be used as a valuable resource for ESL students. The interactive software, Starmatica, Big Universe and the other interactive tools will be used as whole class teaching tools. The interactive software will be used everyday to extend the learning process and help move the children to the next level in reading and math. It will also be used for assessment.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom learning one hundred percent.

It will allow me to place students on the computers and have meaningful learning while I instruct a small group. Technology helps those children who may be lost in the shuffle and have behavior and learning problems to thrive. It enhances their ability to be independent and be a part of their own learning process. It gives them a sense of accomplishment.
