This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 20 amazing students who are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Our school is a Title I school and all of our students receive free lunch because we are located in a low-income/high poverty area. A majority of the students are English Language Learners, meaning English is not their first language. Despite these challenges they continue to have a positive attitude toward learning.
My goal is to make sure they get the tools and instruction necessary for successful growth.
I want to motivate, and engage them, while teaching them how to be confident in their skills.
My Project
I have been moved from 4th grade to 2nd grade and all of my books are at the upper elementary level. This project will build a classroom library that is on level with my current students' needs and help build a community of stronger readers. Having this project funded will truly make a huge difference in the lives of my students. Many of the students do not have books at home to read. The classroom library will allow them to read each night, as required by our school.
My kids deserve a classroom library full of high-quality books that they enjoy reading.
My kids deserve the same opportunity to learn and grow as other students.
