This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you ever wonder about clouds and how they are formed? How about what is inside a seed that a whole plant or tree grows from it? If your answer is yes, then you must be an inquisitive being just like most of my second graders in my classroom.

My students are smart, driven, and very verbal.

They are 95% Hispanic and 5% African American. Most of them do not have a computer or other technology at home. Our school provides a safe environment away from gangs and other socioeconomic limitations. They are exposed to violence and socioeconomic limitations, like lack of food, that others take for granted. In my classroom, they get to dream, the sky is the limit. They've planned future traveling plans, designed their dream homes, and have become celebrated community heroes. The classroom is a safe haven where dreaming high is encouraged. Nothing is impossible when they dream, write, and share their future plans. They would thrive as enthusiastic learners if they are provided with the interactive, hands-on experience that the Science Learning Activity Tub does. They will explore and experience activities in a whole new way.

My Project

I need your help to provide a Science environment conducive of learning. They need to be motivated and to awaken their natural curiosity of the world around them. Learning about plants' growth and how the weather influence living organisms are experiences that will last a life time. The Science Learning Activity Tub set, will build on their prior knowledge. The Weather Tub, Plant Tub, Animal Tub, Solar System, Matter, and Insect Tub will make Science come to life. My students will get to explore all aspects of Life Science and Earth Science that make an impact on living organisms. Humans as living organisms can make decisions to make either a positive or negative impacted of our natural resources. As educators it is our responsibility to teach our students about ways we can contribute to forestation and avoid unexpected changes in our weather. Global warming is a straight result of deforestation that has led to changes in world wide weather patterns.

I need your generosity, to help me teach about all the natural resources we still have available and how to protect them.
