My Students

How will my students learn about the wonders of science without books?

My students live in a very high-poverty area of Washington State.

They come to school with little to no experience with science and the world around them. I need to provide every possible opportunity to provide background knowledge and experience through other avenues. The best way to do this? Books!!!

My Project

My state science standards outline these topics, so my students will be exposed to standards through multiple methods! Topics include: liquids and solids, levers, animal and plant habitats, worms, snails, life cycles, and parts of plants. These books will pull my students in to the science explorations throughout the day!

Science is such an important component to learning, especially in second grade.

My students need books that support their science learning. They need a variety of opportunities too learn all about the world!
