Second Grade Flexible Learners Need New Chapter Books!

My Students
The students in my class this year can best be described as resilient! With everything going on in this crazy world, these kiddos show up everyday, whether online or in person, with a smile on their face and an eagerness to learn. This bunch enjoys being creative and making crafts. They look forward to math challenges, but most importantly, they strive to become better readers. They have all worked really hard to become "Chapter book readers."
My Project
Currently, the chapter books that we have available in the room for the students to read are a little out of date. This causes a problem as the students don't connect to them as well as they do some of the newer titles. I want them to continue to be excited to be "Chapter book readers" so to do this, they need titles more familiar to them that will push them to strive to keep reading more and more.
Two years ago, I COMPLETELY overhauled the classroom and bought flexible seating options for the students.
Our classroom is now 100% flexible seating based. I have seen a HUGE difference since allowing the students to sit in more "fun" options such as rockers, stools, pillows, crates, balls, etc. The kiddos are much more focused and engaged now than they were in regular chairs. We are always on the look out for new cool seating options for the students.
